Congratulations to Irene Ramirez on her signing with Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas!
On February 20, 2019, at University High School in front of friends, family, teammates, coaches, and school administration, Irene Ramirez signed her National Letter of Intent to play college soccer at Hardin Simmons University!
For the Trojans, Irene has been a 4 year starter, 3 year team captain, earned 1st Team All-District honors as Sophomore and Junior, and named Newcomer of the year as a Freshman.
Off the field Irene has been involved in numerous community activities such as Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, and Soccer Buddies.
In the class room Irene has maintained a 3.7 GPA and remains in the top quarter of class showing her commitment to academics as well as athletics.
Irene as been with the Waco Texans for 3 years. She has been a vital role in her team qualifying and success in the Lake Highlands Classic League. Her skills and leadership also landed her a trip "across the pond" during the summer of 2018 with Coach Brian Cunningham and SuperClubs National Team UK Tour.
Irene will finish her career this spring with the Trojans and Waco Texans and begin her new career this coming fall at Hardin Simmons. Irene plans on becoming an Athletic Trainer and we wish her all the best.
